Power outages happen often enough in the Finger Lakes — wind storms in spring, ice in winter, the occasional summer thunderstorm taking out a transformer — that a permanently-installed standby generator is a real upgrade in comfort and safety. Generac's home-standby line is the workhorse we install most often, and we're a Generac certified installer, which matters for warranty and parts service.
A proper install isn't just dropping a unit on a pad. We size the generator to your actual load (usually with a load study), coordinate the propane or natural gas line, install the automatic transfer switch, wire the panel side, and commission the system end-to-end including a real outage simulation. We also set you up with the manufacturer's monitoring so the generator self-tests weekly and alerts on faults.
Common requests we get: whole-home generators for full-time residences, smaller standby units for vacation properties on Cayuga or Seneca Lake (so the heat doesn't fail mid-January when nobody's there), and light-commercial backup for shops and small offices.
