Adding a Level 2 EV charger is one of the most common requests we get from Ithaca-area homeowners. A standard 240V install pulls a dedicated circuit from your main panel to the wall (or pedestal) where you'll mount the charger, with the right amperage breaker to match what the vehicle and charger can actually pull.

If your panel can't support a 40A or 50A charger circuit on top of existing load, we'll quote a panel upgrade as part of the work — better than installing a charger and finding out later it's tripping breakers under real use.
